We are excited to help get your system up and running as quickly as possible! This quick start guide will walk you through how to get the motor controller set up using our web-based user interface tool. There are a few things you will need before you can be off to the races:
A USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the motor controller to your computer.
A USB-C to USB-C cable may not work.
Google Chrome or a chromium-based browser to use our software tool.
User Interface: We recommend using Google Chrome when connecting Vortex to S-Lab.
Google Chrome (version 89+)
Microsoft Edge (version 89+)
Given Vortex's very small footprint, by default we sell the PCBs with solder pads only for customers to choose how they package and integrate into their systems.
However if you need help with integrating, or have specific housing or interconnect needs, reach out to us and we would be happy to discuss custom options.
See below for the CAN, PWM, and power pin-out:
Getting a Salient Motion controller configured and running with your platform is incredibly fast and easy. To get Vortex running, all you need is your DC source, a motor, and a laptop. First, ensure your device is connected according to the diagram below:
Once connected and Vortex is powered on you are ready to begin configuring and testing in S-Lab. Follow along the S-Lab Guide to be up and running in a few minutes.
Once you have successfully wired up Vortex, navigate to the S-Labs page to get your controller configured.
